I enjoyed watching this documentary very much. It was very interesting to see it through the eyes of the old timers who lived during an exciting time in history in China. They're experience was unique and I am glad it's been preserved.

I found most fascinating how the different individuals assimilated their experiences into their identity as Americans and as Westerners.

Also, loved the comment about America smelling sterile. For anyone who has ever traveled abroad and have been offended by another place's scent, this gives us "the other's" perspective.

Was the director Amerasian? He never talked about his mother but he looked to be mixed...plus he spoke basic Chinese.

This is a nostalgic, "what are my roots?" sort of documentary.

An honest look at growing up in a foreign land and how that can make one realize there are other ways to resolve differences besides bombs.

Very deep, insightful and touching.

Well, no, it's not really, but it tries to be. It's extremely boring, corny, and witless. It's the type of show no one wants to say is garbage, because you look insensitive, and unappreciative of a touching store, but it's crap. I don't know why they even made it.

In a word ...

Booooooorrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg.
