Great documentary. Informative and entertaining. Good soundtrack.

Documentaries are usually defined by a combination of passion and information. The passion of mushroom enthusiasts is plainly seen here, and songs by the Flaming Lips are brownie points to me. But I think this falls short on the information end. With a title like "Know Your Mushrooms", I was expecting a more scientific approach to fungi. How can I myself identify edible fungi in the wild? The doc almost completely avoids toxic mushrooms by barely giving them screen time. I now know what mushrooms I can trip balls on, but I have no idea which kind of shrooms can kill me. And dang, give a pig a truffle.

I can see how others may not take interest in this documentary but I found it to be pretty neat. I did learn quite a bit about mushrooms and I really enjoyed following along their adventure. Thumbs up to the people who poured their time into this and here's to hoping other take interest in this as well. Cheers!

Entertaining? Not at all.
Informational? Not as much as I expected.
Educational? Barely. Very small amount of education on the subject. Which is disappointing.Mushrooms are interesting. I was hoping to get at least a little specific educational insight on which ones are safe to eat, which ones are not safe to eat, maybe how to hunt for them or some recipe ideas. This film could have created a new enthusiast. But it failed. It failed in all aspects the synopsis created for me (that I'd learn something. Instead it was a bunch of weirdos (to me) with a very strange-to-me culture. The film was more of a home video then anything else. Congrats on making a film and having it out there...but...sorry... I didn't like it. I watched in hopes to learn something. The only thing I learned is that it seems the culture that might be the resource for most of the mushrooms we eat and enjoy is very different to say the least.

I have a special place waiting for the flaming lips and others who are on this soundtrack
