I enjoyed this movie for a number of reasons. First, it was refreshing to watch a drama without alcahol, sex, violence, or profanity. Second, it was purely enjoyable - the plot and details were fun to watch. Third, though I realize the acuracy of some of the details was questionable, the insight into the specific (quite unfamiliar to me) cultures was enlightening. Fourth, I personally identified with these girls, and enjoyed how their common sutuation was portrayed. Here, I elaborate.
While the faith I hold is not depicted in this movie, many of the same standards I live by are. So often, high standards and dedication to faith in God are portrayed as misguided, confining, old fashioned, and something to be liberated from. "Arranged" showed even that perspective, while revealing the value and timeliness of strongly held convictions. That underlying theme makes this movie very rare and valuable, especially to me.
Enjoy!
