José Ferrer, first latin american that won an oscar winner award for BEST ACTOR. He totally deserved it for this performance. As a Puertorrican I knew about it, but haven't being able to watch the whole movie. Very proud and glad that I could. Thank you HULU!!!

Jose Ferrer is an exceptional, theatrical and confident actor! He exudes all the best in character and romance! I found him so lovable, in his best and worst moments, I could not contain my mirth and admiration whatever his antics! lol. Never laughed nor cried so hard! Sighhhh, it seems like back then acting was a passionate pursuit of perfection! If you like Shakespeare, Kenneth Branagh movies such as Much Ado About Nothing you will LOVE this one. And you will see why so many did renditions of it such as Gerard Depardieu as Cyrano himself, Roxanne with Steve Martin or The Truth About Cats and Dogs with Janine Garofalo and why it's still so hard to top THIS performance. GREAT GREAT Movie, Very didactic and it just goes to show.....ATTITUDE/OPTIMISM is more than half the battle and that the most sensual organ in a person is his MIND!!!!!

A lovely old film with wit, style and and a story line very faithful to the play. At some points the film was a bit blurry perhaps due to the cinematic limitations of the time. However, it was still very enjoyable.
