Okay, so blowing up a nuclear reactor's control building WON'T cause a meltdown in some twisted Hollywood tale. But what do you expect from a movie with mental vampires that look like human brains?
This movie is a classic, from the slow, near Hammer-like buildup to the last 10 minutes with the Air Force blasting stop motion brains. Kim Parker looks great, Marshall Thompson is perfect as the major with all the answers and the atmosphere is terrific. Oh, and the gore level is surprisingly high for a movie of this era.
Giving the term "Destroy the Brain" new meaning, this film deserves its place in the Criterion Collection.
