Real life dramas come with an extra edge because you know that the events were real--there's much more sympathy involved nearly to the point of experiencing the tragedy along with those who survived and those who didn't.
With those comments in mind I would like to recommend
PBS's Frontline: Storm Over Everest http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/everest/etc/synopsis.html
If you found that Nightmare on Mt. Hood had emotional impact, then wait until you see the one that I'm recommending now. I "Nightmare" is a 5 out of 5 then "Storm" is a 10 out of 5. It's that suspensful, it's that impactful and drama-filled. Do yourself a favor... follow the link, read the synopsis, click "watch online", and MOST IMPORTANTLY, after you complete the show progress throught the "Interactive Map" and read ALL of the dialog as you go along. One of the most informative and enthralling documentaries you will ever see.
