been a fan of the ramones since i was 14 best band ever have a ramones licence plate but just didnt get into this movie will watch again mabey better 2nd time

This filmmaker had a chance to make a documentary about a bass player from one of the most influential bands in rock history and all he could do was have Dee Dee ramble on about shooting dope. The filmmaker obviously didn't ask any intelligent questions or offer any insight into Dee Dee's life. Everyone knows Dee Dee did drugs! What else is new?! It's a shame that this film hasn't much to offer. Big disappointment.

I love Dee Dee & the Ramones but this movie is pretty bad. Ok, ya did dope. Anything else? Not enough substance here for real movie. Strictly fan-boy stuff.

i love this guy. just down to earth, real emotion and narration from a man who does not care what anyone thinks. "screw this man, i'm gonna go cop some dope". pissed myself laughing a few times. ......"there's all these bathtub stories......"

I actually got bored with all the drug stories and wished there was more about his relationships and his songwriting. Watch 'End of the Century' instead, if you are interested in those stories. This seemed like the cuttings from a longer interview, spliced together for another stab at making some money after he died.

And for more about the others he discusses, see 'New York Doll', the movie about 'Killer' Kane that was also very excellent.

I thought several of the stories could have been more interesting but they were told from a junkie's point of view so it was just getting dope. No details about the cops chasing them or anything. Like he said I could tell endless stories but he just condenses them down to we got some dope it was crazy. The song that they highlighted was about dope. I think I was overwhelmed by the end of it and kinda gave it a snap review. But I think I was honest about how I felt about the movie at the time. On watching it over I can see it as a raw charactor study without the benefit of having a interviewer to help to guide it and make it more digestible. I do give props to Dee Dee be in front of the cameras for long streches by himself.
