I've now seen all the movies by Kurosawa available on Hulu as of Sept'11. What a ride, and what a graceful landing. I personally don't believe in the nobility of human nature, so I couldn't swallow the values expressed in this film. It's not hard to find real life individuals that get along with others under the same values as those shown here. From my point of view, all I can do is feel sorry for them. But whatever... Kurosawa's career has been such a treasure to have been able to absorb over the past few weeks here on Hulu. I LOVED the ending of this movie. Seeing as this is an "ending" movie, that's really all I needed anyways. Hats off!
