I'm mortified that I sat through this entire disaster. I'm on my way out to the garage to get my hammer and beat myself in the head until the memory of this is erased.

I watched this film with curiosity and to the end (quite a feat) because I had only heard of it back in the early 70s and the idea scared and intrigued me as a kid. I forgot about it until I got a chance to see it recently and gave it a shot to see what it was about. Well, I could tell you that it's about a group of friends going into the woods for a picnic or to look for a lost scientist (I'm not sure it either makes sense or matters), and who encounter some evil warlock type and his stable of monsters. But I'd be lying. The real scoop is that terrible actors in unbelievable, totally '50s vanilla roles do nonsensical things and face caricatures of bad guys and ridiculous, stop motion creatures right out of the silent era. You will pray for something REALLY evil to come out of a cave and tear up those fools at once, but... no such luck. I read somewhere that this bears similarities with Evil Dead, and it may be true on some level. But Evil Dead is an oscar-worthy masterpiece compared to this garbage.

This should be MST3K, not Criterion! What a mess!

This is one of the slowest,dumbest,Boring movies I ever attempted to watch. I say attempted because I never got through even half of it. Poor acting I'm sure played a big role in it's downfall !
