This breakthrough film, which has been cited as a major reason for decriminalizing relations between adult men, remains a brilliantly acted powerhouse. Leading man Dirk Bogarde changed his "lightweight" career in tackling this role (a first, a sympathetic gay man) and continued with a string of superb dramatic performances, e.g., Darling.

Fifty years later, Victim is still compelling and movie.
