What a great film. Quiet, peaceful, and very Japanese. If you were ever curious about the customs and traditions of Japanese families, then this movie is perfect for you -- it provides a good look at their culture. Simple story and camera work make this an easy film to watch, and you'll enjoy the easy-going tone of the film. It's a nice change of pace from the violence, sex and glamor of modern movies -- Tokyo Story is a classic film all the way. You will come away from the film with a greater appreciation of family, especially the elders, and the simple things in life. This is a soulful, earthy film.
