Who knew that BERGMAN was so entertaining? I mean I saw that movie thinking that I was gonna be depressed and questioning the existence of GOD
but it wasn't so
I was entertained till the end... I did some research... and
Bergman thought this movie was going to be his last due to the box office performance of his last 3 movies... but this movie became a box office sensation and the SVENK studio gave him full controls over his next films... then with full control Bergman became the BERGMAN that we all know and love...
But still this Bergman is very interesting... I can't wait to see his first movies

My favorite Bergman film is a tie between the TV version of FANNY and ALEXANDER and WINTER LIGHT
Winter light was like a movie of my life because I also am a very religious person yet I can't communicate my faith to others and I also am suffering from GOD'S SILENCE
WINTER LIGHT IS A GREAT GREAT MOVIE

I love Ingmar Bergman films, and this is one of his films that I had not seen, but that I've wanted to see for years. This is a very sweet and romantic film (and rather lighhearted for Bergman). The first film of Ingmar's I saw was Hour Of The Wolf, which remains one of my favorite films of his, but I consider the 5 hour swedish television version of Fanny and Alexander to be his greatest work of art, and one of the greatest, most amazing, most artistic, and most moving fims ever made (it's certainly his warmest, most beautiful looking film). I hope that Hulu acquires Ingmar Bergman's Summer With Monika soon, because Criterion is going to be releasing it at the end of the month, and I would love to have a chance to see the first film that Ingmar cast Harriet Anderson in).

I think whoever wrote the description was trying to sound more literate and intelligent than they are, so they strung those words together, without truly knowing what they mean, or if they actually apply to this movie.

‘Transience of human carnality’ indeed! Not. The persistence of human affection, yes. But, more importantly, this is the most delightful warm-evening sex comedy I know of in which no one develops the head of an ass.
