I think Antonioni was, like Godard, largely a product of being in the biz during the time when his brilliant contemporaries were working. They're not particularly good, but they fill in the gaps for people who want more slivers of what made the truly great, great.
I'd put Lucino Visconti above both those dudes. I hope to see some of his stuff on here sooner than later.
Alright, I'm through writing this poo poo review.. for those that strongly disagree, just understand that we "haters" are responding to popular opinion. As a result we get a little prickly when we're apparently supposed to realize how wrong we are.
For those still sensitive, I'll add that I think it's interesting to read negative reviews as well as positive ones. So long as insults aren't laid at individual reviewers, I see no problem with critiquing a movie with personal opinion.
