No, I would NOT recommend it. All the females looked silly on this one. No American, self-respecting Female-lover would recommend it! I am so surprised that no one caught the undertones of racism in here. I had a very hard time watching this. They went about the wrong way of getting his parents to accept the Muslim girl(and they made her look conniving and smug)......by insulting all American women, and once again perpetuating a dangerous idea, that ALL American women do not understand family, marriage and love. Are you kidding me??? And what about all the fun-loving Muslim girls? Are they not allowed to hang loose every now and then? And what happens when they do show an out of the box side of themselves? Or what if they never do show a fun side at all?:))
Do the men then go off and marry American women?? Pitting females against each other, making one appear to be "marriage goods" while the other is a temporary excursion is a hateful idea to pass on. This is the sort of movie that reminds me of why it is dangerous for AMERICAN FEMALES, to travel abroad. It brings back memories of similar such statements about OUR women. Had they used another Muslim girl and made a statement about how too much freedom, lack of parental supervision or no self discipline can go awry........maybe then I might have been at ease, but there was no thought or care behind this movie and you can see the personal sentiments behind this movie/director. That biting intro with the groom and the Hindu lady was snobby and arrogant, and hmmm I'm guessing so is the director. Somehow, I doubt he has it in him to show a TRUE ROMANCE by having the hero fall in love with a cosmopolitan, free-spirited FEMINIST over the timid, narrow-minded traditionalist who cannot even think for herself. This is like devolution! She is cooking and cleaning in the cave, next time, we will see him dragging her by her hair! =)))
Perhaps this is a backlash against Bride and Prejudice or wait, this came after soooo........ :)))))) The balance has been set, everything adjusted....and all the prospective "grooms" were Australians. And I wonder why they didnt pit a Muslim man against an Aussie? Maybe cause these self-serving studs, love having a closeted girl to go to and lord over once they are done horsing around with the ideal, independant American, Hindu, or Muslim woman? Wait? Why would a manly man prefer that over his equal? Ah yes, to lord over her purity while she welcomes his experience with reverence. Puke.
