This is definitely not a feel-good kind of movie, so if that is what you're looking for, pass this one up. It's definitely worth watching because it deals in depth and with frankness the pain of loss of a loved one esp. to violent death. I thought Ashton Kutcher did an incredible job of showing the effect of shock--his lack of affect, numbness and everything feeling slowed down or stopped in time, and the parallel rage he felt toward the man he thought killed her. I loved Kathy Bates' portrayal of the grieving mother. It was beautiful and done with her usual talent and authenticity. The movie was spot on, on all sides--including things left hanging without answers--they were meant to leave us hanging--just like the characters' questions will never have answers. Altogether a profound and touching movie.
