Nice conflict, here, with an alien animal enthusiast wanting to abduct Will and Penny, and there's plenty of low-budget sci-fi hijinks with glass cases and spaceships and iguanas, plus Michael Rennie's great stentorian delivery. He plays an old man who talks Will into holding his staff.

I especially liked the monster walk toward the end; the camera angles and the lights and the music made it really effective. Would have probably freaked me if I had been a 7-year old kid watching this.

I've always considered "The Keeper"(Parts 1 & 2) to be hands-down one of the best episodes in the series. This due to Rennie's thankfully calm, steady performance of the cool Keeper. This in contrast to many of the hammy, over-acting Aliens/Villians to come who chew scenary and camp it up.
Wonderfully scripted and exciting, this episode remains a keeper and the series jewel.
