This one was really too silly for me to enjoy, even though once you think about it, the idea of using a little girl to melt the hearts of the advance scouts of any competing advanced civilization, thus ensuring the evil underground soldiers would be released, isn't all that stupid. It puts the discoverers into somewhat of a moral quandry; the only way to "deactivate" the conquering army is to condemn a small child to an eternal coma.
Everybody sure was grouchy at the beginning, heaping abuse on the poor robut, but I guess the heat can do that to people. You'd think they'd be a little more appreciative of the robut, who seems to be a miraculous, oraculous, multi-functional device, able to not only sense water from miles away but also able to determine if it's potable.
Highlights: the robut grunts when exerting itself; you actually see it "sitting" on the ground; it's bittersweet acknowledgement to Dr. Smith of their codependence, and it's laughter at having some fun at the doctor's expense.

Dull, flat epsisode, its one of my least favs from Season 1. The scenes between Will and the pint sized Princess are cloying, badly written, and borderline sappy. And the small actress, Kym Karath, doesnt even try to act!! Yuk!!
Tries hard to generate excitement, this episode leaves me cold. The Robot has a few snappy lines otherwise this one is to be melted-down!!!
