During the daytime, the assassins posed as ordinary citizens: musical instrument makers, geisha girls, cooks, clowns, even police officiers. When Hulu first recommended this movie I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it, but after watching it for even 10 minutes I found that Hulu introduced me to a movie style that I had never seen and it's now one of my favorites. To Lee Ng, way to describe the taste of curdled milk, but I find it applies more to your review than the movie its self. And Sam Ten, shut the fuc3 up we don't care you don't care to read. Yes please dislike this comment if you do not agree.

Imagine taking a giant swig of fresh milk only to find that it was rancid and curdling AND you drank it all. That's how I feel about this movie. Thanks for suggesting this crap, Hulu.

Wasted my time -- why not label it as to if it had sub titles or in if it English languish. I get tired of watching ads every time I don’t like your movies and switch because you can’t take the time to label the damm show as to which languish is going to spoken

Before seeing this movie I had no previous knowledge of it or the series it came from. The film's tone and presentation keep shifting all over the place. It took me a while to conclude that it's a black comedy. At times it's deadly serious, at other times it's ridiculously cartoonish, but most of the time it's just sort of goofy. The musical score is also wildly inconsistent. The opening and closing credits sound like a Spanish ballad, much of the movie sounds like an old Western, and sometimes the music is fit for a modern-day comedy. Is this typical of Japanese productions, or is it just this particular show?

The acting is very good, the costumes and sets are great, and the movie moves along at a good pace. Enjoyable, but the constantly changing mood takes time to get used to.

This is a movie for the TV series in Japan that ran for several years, sort of like how. It has all of the same characters as the TV series. Each episode of the TV series involved a bad person or persons that needed assassinating. Each episode had a balance of humor and seriousness. I grew up on a military base in Japan and watched the tv series. I am really really glad hulu is showing this movie.

HULU, please get the tv series.

Don't take this movie seriously like a Ninja Scroll or Musashi Miyamoto story.
A band of assassins were targeted by an elusive killer whose motive was not clear.
To survive, the targeted band had to fight back.
Not gonna give out spoilers but this movie is like a barogue painting which will grab your attention at each glance with its painstaking detail. It is well worth the two plus hours you have to invest.
The production spared no expense in creating various sets and characters. All the costumes are as refine as the acting.
This kind of movie making is very rare these days.
