Great film , Darrin McGavin plays a real scumbag in this film, Arnold Stang w/ that voice. He ended up doing cartoon voices on 70's saturday cartoons LOL

Grisly tale of the tough streets of Chicago in the 50's. Stark drama, with Sinatra as an addict, who can't seem to get enough of what he doesn't need, who is tied to a scheming wife. Great acting. Novak, as the devoted "other woman" who loves him unconditionally, is delicious. Darren McGavin (Night Stalker) stars as the slick pusher. Plenty of other slick characters (gamblers, drunks, con men, etc.). Excellent Otto Preminger direction. A must see,

Mr. Sinatra shows his fabulous acting skills. Kim Novak gorgeous and sassy. Excellent old school film noir style (not exactly film noir but close) movie. Extremely controversial for it's day. Heroin, gambling, drinking .. Oh, and I almost forgot promiscuous behavior with smoking hot dames. Great character actors, what more could you ask for?.
