I finally finished it after the third attempt, because so many reviews said that it got better. I think it would have been much better if he had not made this as a response to Super Size Me. For the most part, the two documentaries were actually about different topics. Yes, SSM talked about the fat in the food, but he also talked about the sugar, not only in the soda, but the buns, the breading on the nuggets, the salad dressing, etc. SSM also talked about how the food is processed, marketed, the misinformation out there and a lot of other good points.
FH mocks food addiction, which is actually an addiction to sugar, so it would have added to the argument against sugars and starches. How can you be addicted, and hate the food at the same time? The same way an alcoholic can hate the feeling of a hangover or a gambler can hate the feeling of losing money. The brain reaction when encountering the addictive substance is very different from the feeling you have after taking it.
A lot of conservative sound bites pop up a lot during this film, which you can just isolate and discard, if you're being a critical watcher. Try not to let it spoil the good science presented about cholesterol and fat vs. carbohydrates. I appreciate this film, because I've done a lot of reading on the subject that I try to share with friends and family, but a video is always so much easier for people to watch than actually *gasp* reading a book. My advice: Either grit through the first half or just skip to about 50 minutes into the video.
