I am constantly taken by the brilliance shown in each episode. I admit that going into this season I was concerned that the writers might have painted themselves into a corner. Masterfully done, my friends. This series has delved deep into the light and dark sides of human nature, and given us all much to think about -- really, what IF there were only 39,000 humans left alive, even on Earth? Would we then still think about the individual power and wealth, or would we be truly concerned for the whole? And would our decisions be guided solely by in-depth logical examination, instinct and romantic notions, or a hybrid of both?
As for the idea of Kara being the harbinger of death who will lead them to their end, maybe this means the end of hiding for the Final 5? Or perhaps the end of the tyranny of the Ones and its fellow Cylons. There will be quite a bit of death as we approach Earth... do you think that the other Cylons will just stand by and let it happen, and lose their power?
I am also curious to know what the other Centurions are going to think about the Hybrid being taken off-line, and the death of their fellow Centurion, since they have the ability to "think" and reason now. And thank you to all responsible for not making the Centurion's "sentience" painfully obvious and campy. We were given a couple of quick, foreshadowing glimpses, and then it jumps into action. Very well played indeed.
BSG is a bountiful mix of theology, ideology, sociology, and several other-ologies. I predict that this series will be picked apart for years to come after it ends. I expect to see college courses which touch into the soul of this series, and it be the subject of many thesis papers.
I can't wait for this season to hit DVD. I'll watch it all again from the beginning. Hey, SciFi, how about a full weekend-long marathon from start to finish once the series has concluded?
