In response to disappointment. You obivously didn't get it. It wasn't what you saw at all. It was trying to educate people about what we are doing wrong so we can change what is being done now. If you don't tell people why or how what they are doing is hurting the planet how are they suppose to know to stop doing it? BTW where did you get your information. It doesn't work for animal shelters (I think it would work really well not to have animals in cages but in the open outdoors). It doesn't work for pbs (how so?). what works is beauty(duh that is the point) Dirt is beauty. If you want to know about soil analyisis then do the work a trip to the library or even a search on the internet you could find that information. if this program made you want to know more than it did what it was intended to do and that is to broaden peoples perspective and make them want more information. From the things you said you seem to be the type who would just complain so take your wanting more info and put it to use. Go find out more for yourself. BTW what have you done in your little corner of the world to change any of it? You should at least be a participant and petetion against monoorganism farming like Cargil and Monsanto who are trying to destroy the world for the sake of temporary profits. The point this program was tryhing to make is if you have that information already then do something with it and be proactive. The fact that you even watched it is something but do something with it rather than just complain. Plant your own garden. Make in your own backyard what you want the world to become. Go make your own film about soil and top this one.

I felt encouraged by this movie, and educated, and I liked it a lot, but I did feel a sense of helplessness in the face of industrial agriculture and our culture. An in depth look at the ways to live sustainably would be a welcome sequel. Providing positive views of problems in our world may well be an even better means of accomplishing goals.

thanks for the review... it saved me the time of watching the movie because i am like u in that im a horticulture student and know all those things as well... In reality i thought it was the book DIRT turned into a movie (which i would love to watch) i guess this movie was targeting the un-informed people, to let them know what is being done wrong.
