Well, he can use what he absorbs and throw it back, generally through enhanced physical movement, so it is fairly similar. From what was said, it seems that at least one of the five types has clairvoyance and/or predictive qualities, though it might be more complex than that.I don't think they're all considered "Alpha Stigma" though, but rather it's a misunderstanding on the part of Sion and Claugh, since they only know about Alpha Stigma rather than the other types (that knowledge being only in Gastark as far as we know).It also seems that Ryner is not actually an Alpha Stigma, but rather something more as well, so it's very interesting. My current theory is that the five eyes are magic constructs used as weapons in the battle between the "Legendary Heroes" and the Monsters; or the result of a diverging bloodline, and Ryner's cursed eyes are somehow a more pure source.But it's just speculation, I don't have anything to base it on. It could also be that Gastark's information on Alpha Stigma and cursed eyes in general is still incomplete, just like Sion's.

You may not like the "lighthearted comedy bit", but that's how Ferris and Ryner deal with one another. They both had pretty messed up childhoods, and this is a way they've found to get through to one another and express how they feel to one another. Yeah, it's pretty wierd, but it seems to me that it's appropriate for them to act that way with one another.
