Yes! I was thinking that! WTF is up with that hair? And she got TWO guys to be interested in her and for her husband to act like the affair was HIS fault. Talk about manipulative. And her face OMG has she heard about make up. The only nice thing she has is her legs but when they panned up to the face it was like UGH!!! Yeah her looks and the crazy short poodle are distracted.

I read the book years ago and it was definitely a scary story; the movie followed it pretty well except the scene during the murder was really more mentally terrifying for Candy. As for her future, I can see why it would be difficult to live with oneself after losing control that way and for her husband, wondering if she would go off again at some point in life if stressed too far - again. I wonder what actually happened to them afterwards.

Am I the only one finding her hairstyle to be such an implausible distraction in this movie? And her sex appeal at that? I guess truth really is stranger than fiction lol.

Yes. The title was changed to "A Killing in a Small Town" when the film aired on CBS. It's also changed on some of the early DVD releases of the movie. The book that the film is based on was titled "Evidence of Love". Apparently, the woman who died wrote a letter to her husband where she told him that she needed to see "...tangible evidence of his love." The writers chose this small (and rather oblique quote) for the book...
