How true, Thes youngins forget that you can sit down and watch a flik without all the hoopla and comparing it to other movies that are available....,.relax!!!!! Sit back and enjoy it, It sure aint oprah, nor is it something stupid on reg channels on tv. It is free, so quit yer complaining.....enjoy!

Chamberlain didn't do Quatermain until 4 years after Raiders of the Lost Ark. Quatermain the character was around before Indy, but the film was intentionally derivative of the Indy films. Unless I've misunderstood your message, King Solomon's Mines and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold were not even earlier than Indy.

Wow. Nice series! Unbelievable that so many critics want to diss this and compare it to Indiana Jones? Who cares?! There's Richard Chamberlain even earlier as Alan Quartermain but these negative reviewers are probably too young to remember. Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Stargate, WHATEVER! Just enjoy this series for the action adventure it provides. It doesn't need to be overanalyzed and ripped apart. Who cares about his hat or the lock or the zebra--duh? It was well-done for it's budget, for the foreign scenery and locations, pretty good choices for actors, not a bad script, and esp. the use of locals for both acting and crew! I liked it, and have commented to others below.

It's called "willing suspension of disbelief" in theatre--to further the plot. Thanks for the Homer Simpson, B Movie. The others STILL don't get it! All armchair critics who have no respect for the amount of work that goes into making a movie--and look at the credits: all foreign local actors and crew! THAT is way commendable methinks.
