I believe the religions we have are all man made which is to say all religions are nonsense because they're clearly irrational. So you'll appreciate when I say I'm opposed to abortion. Doctors must do no harm. Aborting a child when a mother feels like it without further justification is immoral. There are no moral absolutes. What I mean by immoral is that the genetically independent entity that is a fetus should be considered and not cavalierly thrown out like a hunk of meat without due process. Rape, incest, and imminent threat to the mother's life are cases where abortion must be used and can be used as the lesser evil. There is always adoption for those women who conceived children in acts of consensual sex. The burden is then on the entity (also called a person) whom the mother may have contemplated annihilating for her own convenience. The situation is simply absurd in this episode. Women wouldn't simply be prohibited from abortion, they'd be conscripted to have babies. You can imagine Starbuck running the flight school for Viper pilots with a couple infants of her own. They never honestly approached what life would be like if your population had gone from several billion to 49 thousand. Perhaps only 15% of the population could even bear young--the rest being too old, too young, or male. That's only 7400 women of childbearing age. Birth conscription definitely. Many women would be glad to do it. Consider: the scientologists would have us believe prostitution is allowed but conscripted births are not? I've always despised this episode. There were worse in seasons 3 and 4!
