Oh? So, you'd rather hear the original Leonard Cohen version of "Hallelujah" than Jeff Buckley's version? I admit, this is not my favorite thing I've heard The Swell Season do, and I was hoping for more, but speaking in absolutes can get you in trouble quickly.

Judging the filming/hulu presentation, I was very pleased to watch this.

However, the content (aka the actual cover) , wasn't as great as prior reviews had said. There was lots of energy and focus which is certainly needed in a NMH cover.

sadly, it is yet another failed attempt to play an equally satisfying version of a NMH song. Great effort though, I enjoyed listening.

I've always been peripherally aware of Neutral Milk Hotel, but never really knew their music that well, and I've never heard of The Swell Season. But after hearing this, then listening to the original, I have to say I like this much better.

This is a terrible cover that doesn't remotely do the original justice. Shame on Merge records for green lighting this tripe.
