The evidence seems to indicate it was a forgery. It was first published in Chinese in 1929.

That's not true at all. The Tanaka Memorandum is disputed IN JAPAN like many wartime issues, such as the extent of the Rape of Nanking. In China and elsewhere it is accepted as valid. It's absolutely not accurate that "most historians" think it was a forgery. The best you can say is that it's always been disputed. The Soviet Communists, Fascist Japanese and Nazis claimed it was fake. The US and Nationalist Chinese have claimed it's real. See 3 other replies

James Cagney doing what he does best.

Grittiness of the background settings was great. Have to take points away for the poor makeup work on the actors.

Hugh Beaumont - small part but stepping stone to becoming Mr. Clever.

I loved the interior sets influenced by Mr Wright's Tokyo Hotel
The Peace loving Prince who knew that empires might be won by war but they are an evil.China has suceeded to become a greated power by trade not conquest of arms.

83rd&82nd,street,1st Avenue in Manhattan,NYC.Everybody knew he grew up there,Jimmy Cagney.I knew of the building before I knew who he was.Grew to love all of his films.George M.Cohan,Yankee Doodle Dandy,love when he danced,he said that he was a 'Hoofer first'.and The Strawberry Blond......"Hugo,...oh,..Hugo.."Please,HULU,..more,...more..!Love the old films 30s,..40s,..B&W....The lighting,detail,cars,dress etc.The films looked 'real'..He lived out his life in Conneticut,on his farm,he and his wife.Film was a pleasure.
