This new and mesmerizing music movement is founded on DIY—Do It Yourself—ethics and created by most Nerdcore rappers on home PCs shared with the world, for free, on the internet. Though it has existed on-line for almost a decade, only recently has Nerdcore gone from being an internet fad to an underground cultural phenomenon. Filmed over the course of two years, NERDCORE FOR LIFE profiles the top names in the field as they celebrate “Geek Life” and their passion for hip hop to the fullest, fight anti-nerd stereotypes and attempt to rise to the top of the game. The documentary follows these dedicated artists as they go from recording rhymes in their mother’s basement to performing live for thousands of cheering fans. From their first song to their first MTV appearance, NERDCORE FOR LIFE chronicles the amazing transformation of a group of unknown nerds into internet celebrities and rising hip-hop stars. In all, more than 40 Nerdcore artists and producers from across North America make appearances in NERDCORE FOR LIFE, including: MC Chris, Optimus Rhyme, MC Router, Schaffer The Darklord and many more.

There is a lot of nerdcore that sucks IMHO but.... there are few that do have talent... and of course there is that requirement that you have to understand what they are rapping about. i can see by some reviews that people don't appreciate the topics...but that is because they have no clue on what the song is about. Same would go for mainstream hip-hop. Some artists you have to understand what they are rapping about to appreciate the talent.

Personally I'm a big MC Hawking fan..

Bullocks, these guys had terrible rhymes schemes and the only complex rhymes were from whatever nerd lingo makes they're songs "unique". It's not sexist but it's definitely egotistical in terms of talking crap about people who aren't "nerdy" enough.

This is so half ass. i like beefy though but i mean this just sucks... like really sucks. I feel like i should elaborate as to why and make constructive criticism but I'm just indulging in their collective suckiness. Suck suck suck.

There is not one thing I find sympathetic about these nerds or the doc. But like a train wreck I just cant stop watching it.

Why the negative comments? I don't consider myself a "nerd" in any way. I used to work in an art gallery, now I work with children. I do however see these guys as authentic artist, which is unfortunately lacking in a lot of mainstream so called "artist." Keep it up guys! It is so pathetic to put someone down for doing something they are good at and love.

being a big fan of video games and real hip hop this is really whack. and i like how death suck or whoever the guy in the purple mask was totally ripped off mf doom. he wears the same mask so thats just insulting to him. Not trying to hate i can see you guys use reason which is a really good music program i use it myslef that and pro tools. But yea just had to say that cuz it was bugging me that hes tryin to come off all original and is totally biting a style from one of undergrounds hip hops best. I dunno maybe im just use to listening to conscious mcs who use a full 16 to 32 bars and have expanded vocabs. oh and all female rappers suuuckkk except for foxey brown off the firm. sorry nerds lol peace and pot everyone
