how could any sane person call this a comedy? its truely sad how this girl is treated and even more sad is its realistic in how women are treated in america today, and not just imergrants.

There have been documentaries about MOBs that echo a lot of the behaviors shown in this drama. One I saw about MOBs in western Canada shows how tough it can be to come to a strange land where you have no family, your religion and upbringing are marginalized if not outright surpressed, you are a servant and sex object rather than a human being, and the people who bring these women here see it as a business transaction (is it not?). What recourse do you have when you can be sent home on a whim, and often you can't even communicate how you are mistreated...and even if you are, how do you find help?
I am sure there are "successful" MOB relationships. But, from what little I've heard second hand, MOBs and a lot of imported immigrants have a rough life that you wouldn't wish on an enemy.
For example, there was a ring of massage (and worse) parlors in VT/NY that turned out to be using what was in effect imported slave labor broken up in the last couple of years. I also had a friend who is a cop in a city in NJ that would talk about women imported to dance in adult nightclubs, all of which would eventually be coerced into being prostitutes with no control over their lives. There have been local exposes about Oriental restaurants staffed with people brought in country to work for a pittance, bussed from overcrowded dorms at sunup to work until sundown, and kept in line with threats of deportation.
Comedy? Sure, in the same way Saw is a comedy about S&M.

This is a Movie not a Documentary, the oriental girl is an Actor, NOT some Mail Order Bride, I also saw her in another movie.

Be warned that as with ALL dark comedies, the things they make fun of and the subjects that they cover deal with the sick sides of human behavior. All of the characters have serious issues, as you should EXPECT them to in this genre of film.If you are not aware that this is not a real documentary, then you will hate and possibly be repulsed by this "film" (like many others who have commented here). But hopefully, the fact that it is labeled as a "COMEDY" will tip you off.I got so sick of reading people's dumb comments about how: "all the men are pigs" or "it's an unfair portrayal of Asian women" or "all the characters are sick". YOU IDIOTS....NONE OF THIS IS REAL!!! It is not supposed to be a good, fair, balanced portrayal of anybody!!!I gave it 3-stars. It can be a little slow, weird, and confusing in certain parts. But there were enough laughs and unexpected plot twist to keep you guessing.
