The basic concept behind the plot (1984-style dystopia) has been done to death, and the ending wasn't all that satisfying, but the movie was filled with lots of little surreal details that I happened to love, all delivered in deadpan style. While the main character is depressed and disillusioned, we are treated to a lot of entertaining silliness, making this movie more like a quirky, deadpan version of Office Space rather than a bad clone of 1984.
I thought some of the details were really impressive, giving our main character a reason to feel disconnected from the mainstream while simultaneously being somewhat funny. But reading the other reviews, I see that some people didn't find those details funny at all.
Whether you like this movie probably depends heavily on how much you like quirky, overly bizarre deadpan humor.
