"Proof Through the Night" demonstrated that Hawke had to contend with two wars - the lingering wounds of Vietnam and the war of tensions with the Soviet Union. Here he takes Airwolf on one of the missions it is best suited for - foreign infiltration.
It also demonstrates Airwolf's vulnerabilities - most conspicuously its visibility to radar as well as its limited payload capacity. Hawke's clever flying saves the day as he penetrates the Iron Curtain to save an agent. It's full of tension right up to the very end, and leaves a classic Russian tune playing in the minds of viewers.
