That kid who got caught stealing has to be one of the dumbest characters in the history of television. He's your typical follower. He has to wear "cool" clothes to be in with the gang, but he's afraid for his mother to see him dressed in them, so he changes clothes in a gas station on the way to school, LOL. When he grew up, he probably ended up cleaning toilets or something. The actress who plays his mother, Peggy Webber, was a regular on the Dragnet radio show and the original black & white Dragnets 15 or so years before this episode, and she looks younger here than she did on the B&W shows.

This show shows how things have changed so much just in my lifetime. Friday said "Even homosexuality is praised" I love it!

Born & raised in Los Angeles (sun baked people with half baked ideas) and watched Dragnet as a teen. This degree of dis-association was never a probem for parents or their children Teens will always gravitate toward groups "to belong" but never really to gangs or clubs as described here. Parents made friend with neighbors, etc. The breakdown of types were but three: The Stoners, The Sports Freaks, The "all others". A very small separate group was around and posed the greatest threat to everyone, including the LAPD. They the S.O.B.'s of society and were a product of bikers. These teens were motherless assholes that never actually attended schools and do anything w/o regards to consequences. Beatings (not fights), robbery, rape, assualts (knifes, chains, guns) were actions carried out by TEENS. The parents were usually meaner than the teens. But overall, this episode overinflared the problem of this dis-association. YEP!
