An excellent documentary, very enlightening. There were but two references to charity, one dismissed it as “I know my family gives millions for charity…” I doubt he realizes those donations serve as a tax shelf and actually earns them more money. The other, when asked what they would do with their money said, “I dunno, give it to the homeless?” and then laughed and said, “Just kidding.” This is why I believe there should be no such thing as an heir. Get your children the best education possible and let them squabble over the crap you leave behind. And if you have a few million in the bank while you lay on your death bed, give it to someone who can put it to good use. There is a restaurant in New York that serves a dish of ice cream for $25,000. That’s one dollar for every child who dies of hunger every day.God, I loved watching them squirm when asked if they worried that their money could be cut off. That was better than an ice cream sundae.

Part of you fits with very well with the crowd you ran in. You are well educated and you are indeed very wealthy. But you possess the curiosity of someone who has not taken anything at face value and you have taken time for true introspection. You also display a self destructive sense of candor. I hope people can still become successful and wealthy displaying your candor. I think people can, but I think one of the few avenues for that sort of massive, single generational wealth accumulation is in the technology sector. Sure, there are a lot of people who can afford to take the time and money required to learn the requisite skills to become successful in today's technologically driven economy, but there are many people who will never have the opportunity to learn the basics required to have a chance at "the American Dream", not to mention a chance to amass wealth within a generation. I know you have addressed some things to this effect in your 1% film, I look forward to watching it and learning what you are doing to foster access to the American Dream. Thanks and Cheers,

I enjoyed watching this documentary. I think Jamie Johnson really stepped up in exposing a much more relaistic view of what being born wealthy really is like in some instances. He ought to continue to do the things he loves and not be concerned about making mistakes. As we all have to make mistakes before we learn to walk and then run. Each one of the persons he interviewd has the opportunity to define themselves through thier own interest and effort. And in time discover the things they really love and want to turn into careers. This happens to a lot of people thus they ought not feel as though they are different in this way. As for Luke, it seems he is more intense and paranoid then the others. God only knows what he's been told by those around him that cause him to be so on edge.

Although to some, this might seem to be a 'rich kid' trying to make excuses for himself and his friends. When in all actuality it is a completely useless piece of diatribe, of privilaged children, getting together to convince themselves that their previous actions as elite snobs, can be forgiven by the simple fact that they didn't know any better at the time.Just because they think they have learned, what exactly is the difference between 'us and them' doesn't really give them any savings graces. To acknowledge ones faults, is completely different than correcting them. As their parents will prob. attest, growing up is a longer journey than to just getting older.Well before i sound too over critical, I would like to say one thing, making this film would have gone alot further with the sympathy factor had it been made, and then distributed only to the families of the children and not put out for public consumption.All in all, in a word, CRASS.--JWF III
