Clever Murder Mystery, Cute Love Story & a Corny Ending. Good for a cloudy day in LA.

Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_empty I had fun...
I like the relationship values of the 70's and 80's kickin in. The cast is so strong it's hard not to like the way these actors fill up the screen. Kevin Kline with a mustache looking as old as he is now...lol. Rod Steiger screaming at Danny Aiello. Alan Rickman in a supporting role. All of these actors went on to do leading and supporting characters. I liked it.

The physical comedy at the end of the film must have been a scream in the theatre though.

Good movie, but not a real strong ending. Great actors.Younger people might not appreciate the acting.

Entertaining. Folding laundry wasn't so grueling.

This might have been OK in the 80s but by today's standards it is pretty bad. Bad acting, corny, boring, generic plot, etc.

There are a few places where I thought it might redeem itself, but it never happened.

If you want to see a good movie from the 80's (maybe early 90's) on hulu go watch point break.... or just about anything else on hulu as well. I'd stay away from this one unless you're running out of other options for entertainment.

For me it seemed a bit slow at first but, the point of view and directing skills are understandable for the times...Media in it's different forms in todays world is way faster and multi everything. But bottom line I was taken by the romance and the interesting cop work. Loved the ending pay off.

I like Kevin Kline in practically everything and especially liked Alan Rickman's quirky character (He could have his own series as Ed, the artist/detective). I agree with Luminance about poor character development, but I'm not sure how the actors could have done any better with the writing they were given. Anyway I enjoyed it, but wasn't satisfied with the ending.
