Description	Ruy De Mendoza (Christopher Lambert) is Sheriff of a provincial Spanish town during the time of the Inquisition. Prominent Noblemen and their guards are found butchered, bloody, letters carved with a knife on their chest – only for the corpses to vanish shortly afterwards and the crime scenes completely cleaned up. As Ruy investigates what is behind these heinous crimes, he finds a mystifying wall of silence, where even the widows of the murdered men deny anything might have occurred. Obsessed with uncovering the truth, Ruy finds himself in the middle of a dark and dangerous conspiracy that soon threatens not only his own life, but that of his family.

Not a bad movie.Not spectacular,but decent.The supporting cast does a good job.

This is probably Christopher Lambert's best film (yes, better than Highlander).

It starts off a little slow, but as the action gets going, the story gets more and more interesting. Things toward the end were actually surprising plot twists. Much better, WAY better than I thought it was going to be (considering what we usually get on this site).

I enjoyed the movie, the story was interesting and acting okay. I thought that the mayor and the mercenary were played the best out of all the characters.

Raiden as a Spanish Jew? Not authentic. As none of the actors were this must be by design.

I don't doubt that there is at least some truth to this narrative, and it makes me think of other episodes like it throughout history. First off, I have some Jewish blood myself so this is not racially motivated, but I think it's interesting how this dispersed group has often operated like a secret society wherever it takes up residence. It has always seemed to flourish even while its host nation falters, has always kept to itself -- dispising its Christian countrymen, and doubtless has probably tried to out-fox them as much as possible. This inevitabley seems to lead to the (justification of) the
pogroms a socail backlashes against them. Interesting.

Interesting coverage of history and good production values. For the few left who have not been drinking the Kool Aid, it provides very valuable lessons to be learned today that are totally unrelated to the silly "separation" issue stated by the filmmakers.
