Cute comedy of errors though 1988 wit and romancing not up to modern day swinging. Hopkins played his native Welsh character in such believable detail--but then Hopkins always does bring his absolute best to every role he plays, yes? Jeremy Irons is a far cry from the depth of most of his other roles, but he was lively and light. The seaside Brit town was a delight. It's a very lighthearted piece by Alan Ackbourne and rather brings the Beggar's Opera to real life--with all the players getting into character, eh?
