I'm a big Chris Walken fan ,but he must have been down on his luck to even appear in this trash .......that fighter was awful .....the best part of the movie was the location ...where ever that was ..

This has a good story line. forget about what actor did what and follow the story. The main charater was a man of few words, but, his prescence was known. You don't have to talk much to get a point across. The actors did it well, low budget or not it was done well. I like the ending when he was able to be with his girl.

This is a great movie it shows the real side of a brutal and deadly sport. Anyone who has put on the gloves knows how long 2 minutes are.Mickey Rourke was the best .He got robbed of an oscar as the movie was low budgit.. Rocky pictures glorifird boxing and the people running the boxing industry must have loved that. I am sure they hated this movie and paid the critics to give it a bad review,look at what happened to M.Allie and so many more greats,lots of money but a wasted brain and ringing in the brain.Anyone who said that this movie is bad has proubally never put on the gloves and shouild go suck on there mommas hind tit.Great Movie.

Micky Rourke's character was kinda hard to take. I kept wishing he would stand upright and talk a bit more! LOL. All in all, an ok movie.

This is a great B movie. B because it's appeal is limited and its rather low-budget.

But with this kind of acting and Eric Clapton providing the score, it has to recieve four stars.

Yes, Rourke should have gotten a nomination for Best Actor, but he wasn't going to get one at that point in his life after frittering away a career that started out in an elite category that today would likely include Ed Norton and Sean Penn.
