Bought the DVD "movie" based on watching this trailer and the extended "sizzle" trailer on their website.
It isn't a movie, it is only a short. The extended trailer tells you more than is in the entire "movie", because at least it has narration that explains things. The movie feels like the five-minute beginning before opening credits, so it came as quite a shock when I realized I was seeing closing credits after 15 minutes.
There is nothing on their website or even on the DVD case that gives you the running time or that would indicate it is a short.
I didn't watch the extended trailer, my wife did. I had a hard time telling what was going on because there was a lot of necessary info told in the extended trailer that was not there in the actual "movie".
Watch the extended trailer on their website and think about what the movie could have been. Don't bother buying the DVD.
The acting is better than you'd expect in a fan-film, but it isn't up to sitcom level. The costuming was good, the greenscreen work was good, visually it was way above fanfilm level. The basic concept of the seeker/hunter looking to get back what was stolen is a good one to start with. Too bad it feels like I got only the first scene.
If I hadn't paid full movie price for a 15 minute scene, I might have given this three stars for "Thought it was OK". If I hadn't been led to expect an "adventure" and knew it was a short film to start with... I'd love to see them make an actual movie or series out of this, with the expectation that the storytelling will get better.
