I love this series, is stupid have good ideas and then canceled. I think fox mistaken to remove it to air, you can play with story in all aspects, for example no mortal can provide immortality to another human being, chaman or not, that only comes from the gods. Explore the native, who is her, the reason give to him immortality?, which is the effect that causes find true love? I have bad feelings with some writers that marked the beginning of the true love with sex, is something irrelevant that makes no practical sense, let us remember that sexual desire ends at any time, the true love does not, and this John character in his lives had many women and all to beloved is a remarkable way to discover this essence vital in humans and teach it; true love not hurting, is only the life and as we choose to live it, the decisions we take here good or bad and making our daily living. Never forget those loves but based on these decisions, some remember them with a sweet taste, other bitter but that truly makes us feel alive at the pinnacle of what is the beginning and the end. I believe that without fear of mistaken I could play wonderfully in time and space with each of the characters, if the creator and writer lost the ideas. I think that each of us not, It would be interesting to know how go history in the point that ends, as serious follows chapter explore the world of John Amsterdam.

I just love this show and think it had a lot of potinal but it wasn't given a real chance to explore that and he did travel there where no civil war battles in New york city that I recall. Also because it was canceled no one really knows if he didi leave the city besides that one time. I am sure he did. About the Dr. I don't think that they were ever meant to be and he was trying to be decent to her by taking Omar's advice and letting her go. I think that wanting him to die while walking away was quite a cruel comment the show was great but given time it could have been wonderful. Also as far as the Dr. was concerned he was only chasing after her because he thought she was the one and he wanted to keep her because he felt bad about causing her divorcee and guilty for leading her on. As far as the Indian thing goes it makes as much sense if not more then highlander immortal babies coming from no where thats screwed up I mean what if know one ever finds them. Atleast the Indian thing explained where he got the immortality from. I really want this show to come back and I am really glad that the Drs. gone she was a bit of a pain he tried being honest and she called him crazy even after witnessing his coming back. I also think that getting some more writers with some travel ideas would be cool I love that Omar is wiser then his father in some ways it gives the show real life prospective.

I could kinda see this show being cancelled by Foxx coming, 'cause although the premise was a little hokey, the show had some good qualities and characteers and that seems to be Foxx's M.O. The uncool part is that there is no closure. You would think a person that supposedly was a recovering alcholic would have practiced at least some of the principles of A.A. I could see being a male chauvinist jerk in his past but once he recovered what was it in the sixties he would have had forty years to work on his honesty and character which was definetly lacking. The ending was just stupid and didn't really follow the story line not to mention most people that live to be 400 years old would have probable left NY and seen the country a little, hey maybe even the world. The show really had some interesting possibilities however when he met the ONE so early you new it was doomed to be cancelled, hell where do go from there. i was kinda hoping as he was walking away in the middle of the street that he would have been hit by a bus and run over . . . . . now that would have been a good ending and we all could of had some closure!

The immortal indian potion was kind of dumb; too dumb for such a good show. Ok does anyone else out there feel that sexual tension between John and the lieutenant? They were totally about to heat up the show! As for Fox's habit of canceling great shows like New Amsterdam, Journeyman, and Terminator:TSCC to name a few, the executives only care about one thing the almighty dollar and they replace a low rated show with a bubblegum reality faster than you can say Firefly! Thanks for not killing Dollhouse and Fringe.....yet!

This show was a good show that deserved to last longer than 8 episodes. And, they should have had a chance to complete the show before it was cancelled. I got into the show and the characters and now we will never know who his soulmate was. But, my money is on Eva (his partner).
