This film suffers from shades of Friends/Sex In The City syndrome. Both of those shows were set in the uber diverse backdrop of NYC, yet there were no actors of color in the core cast. Granted, this film isn't primarily set in NYC, but it's still a plethora of white actors in a vehicle where the title suggests "anywhere" could include different kinds of people, but it's mainly centered on white characters with a couple folks of color tossed in. I had some hope that this thing would be a bit of a cross-section of our crazy nation, but the lack of a balanced sense of diversity is more than troubling for a middle class woman of color like me. I love the "look" of it and how the scenes were composed and filmed. Very crisp and creative. Just could've been more diverse. Would've been so cool to see the director take a bold step and create some vignettes with educated, middle class Blacks, American Indians and Latinos (as opposed to Hollyood's standard thug/criminal/poor English/school-dropouts/drug-addled/drunk/illegal alien caricatures). We're out there and we have cool, funny stories, too.
