I may be wrong in this, but I am pretty sure the reason that the shows have gotten 'longer' isn't due to advertising, seeing as how Hulu pauses the show to show a commercial. If you pay attention to when the show was made, there were less commercials a decade ago, so it would stand to reason the actual show would be longer. If you add 18 and 42, you get an hour. The show didn't get longer because they added advertising. Newer shows are shorter due to the increase in advertising. Also, so far as I have noticed, especially in this show, Hulu has done a pretty good job of syncing their commercial breaks with the break already in place. In some instances, the show goes to what was an obvious commercial, and yet you watch uninterrupted.   See 3 other replies

You're always free to leave, and start your own online streaming media outlet with your own money, and when you start losing money because a server goes down at anytime of the day, or your internet connection is being taxed for band width, because of all the idiot free loaders who think everything should be free. After you lose money your own money, you can go to a bank or find investors who will want to know how they're going to get back the money on their investment, you can tell them you won't watch cable, or internet with commercials, they'll ask you why do you think you lost your own money?, and you can look like an even bigger idiot. These ventures cost money. Hulu has servers running content 24/7, this requires electricity, IT support staff, etc.Unless you have some magic fairy dust you can sprinkle on the ground that allows trees to grow with money on their branches like leaves. Stop complaining about the commercials, no one has a gun to your head making you watch anything. the entertainment business is to make money, and hopefully keep it's audience entertained enough to go out and support their sponsors. I like Hulu, and the commercials don't bother me, I realize they pay the bills.   See 3 other replies

So a television production company should pour hundreds of thousands of dollars or more into a show and then give it out without any sort of compensation in return? The fact of the matter is that Hulu does not get to play these shows for free, and because of that, they have to have a way to cover their costs, pay their employees, and still turn a profit. If you don't like it, feel free to explore any number of illegal options out there.   See 3 other replies
