And very few of them start off with a huge bang. Granted there was a movie, but they were pretty much throwing the movie out the window when they created the series. And even if they were using the series as a "leading up to the movie" thing, they blew that by having Duncan kill Connor in a later movie.
Yeah, the villains are a bit underclassed, but what I love about season one is that Duncan ISN'T fighing an evil Immortal in every episode. Things like this one, where he didn't even beat up the bad guy, but got his butt handed to him, are what makes a show better than good guy always wins.
I used to refuse to watch the series since it made no sense to have one after the first movie. But a buddy of mine had them and I sat down and started watching them and really enjoyed it. Yeah, it's not the greatest show ever on, but it is entertaining. And like I said, they had to start somewhere after the first movie.
