This was a great show. The writing was strong, the characters were great, the acting was top notch, especially Paulson, who played Harriet.
It was a great ride. Unfortunately, it was also an expensive show to produce, and it didn't attract the ratings that NBC wanted.
That is unfortunate.
Sometimes great shows like this are so expensive that they are doomed before they even start. (It must have had a budget of a couple of million bucks per episode.)
This story took us inside the world of television production of a comedy show, and helped us grapple with the joys and pains of writing. Of facing the clock, and knowing that empty pages needed to be conquered before tne next show. Of loving, and losing, and standing up for your beliefs even in the crazy world of televsion.
I don't know if I have ever seen a better show, but this show was fantastic.
