This movie was a beauitful trip down memory lane, with the most lovely setting of the coast of Maine. I closed my eyes many times, during the movie, just to listen to the sound of the ocean, wind and gulls, remembering our families trips to the coast. When I grew up, these actors were already past their prime and I only saw most of them in black & white. What a treat this was to see them in color in this movie, dealing with life in their more mature ages. I could just imagine my sister and I trying to live life together and get along. It'd be much the same as in the movie. My sister would be Libby (Bette Davis) and I'd be Sarah (Lillian Gish). lol In one review I read, the commenter was displeased with the movie because of the foul language of the handyman, Joshua. I've met people like this in real life and many times they are good people, they just didn't grow up the same way as most of us and maybe don't believe in the same things. I don't hold this against the movie or against the people in real life, either. This was a very touching movie and I recommend it highly to bring back some of the human in all of us.
