Not just this episode, but all of the episodes from Lost in Space. One thing peculiar about holywoods productions in general, in any show or movie (horror, comedy, drama, action) they will cover only pertinent details along with the jest of the plot or story to satisfy viewers. But, trivial details or even further, boring tiny matters that are found in everyday life, are deliberately left out-excluded from the shows. (eg, birthdays, domestic family arguments, having dinner, taking a nap, washing clothes, or mere mention of going to the bathroom-of course not being seen there) because takes up time and seems it might dilute the excitement. Lost in Space producers, must have been clever and add details commonly expected to be boring, but turned out to strengthen the Lost in Space program. But I think in reality, those elements helps viewers take even more from the drama. And given this little bit of extra detail, will make the director and actors even more successful, if the viewers become so involved with the drama that they forget if was just a make-believe holywood drama and not the real thing taking place. One thing I noticed at 7 minutes into this episode, is when Maureen is designing and fitting clothes for Penny, Penny jokes about growing out of the sizes to soon. Well in fact, it was mentioned while they were staging the production and rehearsing scripts, repeating takes, etc., that Penny was the only actor here that had to wear a skirt, because she was growing up faster than the others. Among other budget considerations (chariot, Jupitor 2, space pod, salaries) clothes and space suits costs and design. And except for Penny, the other actors could still wear their attire thru nearly all three seasons. So by the time you see the third season with Penny wearing a skirt, instead of full size slacks, thats the reason.
