I believe the issue with people not understanding and being frustrated is because the lack of understanding of the Korean culture. I was born and raised in Korea, my mother is Korean and my household ran very much like a typical Korean household. I also spent the last 20 years in the United States and know there is quite a difference in culture, family dynamic and how relationships function. I too find it frustrating In Jung, but it’s very respectful what she is doing because under the circumstances their relationship can never happen or be condoned. Unfortunately culturally she is doing the right thing, but we as American don’t see the issue or think that love can overcome it all. It does not work like that in the Korean culture; family approval is a must when it comes to relationships and definitely marriage. In this instance she was the mistress of his brother in law whether she knew or not, it stops her from having this type of relationship with him. The sister as well knows her face, know the past and the history and they couldn’t get away with it anyway. I guess they could run away together but that never end well because the truth is found out and the price is much greater in the long run.

i started watching this drama hoping it would offer something worthwhile. the first couple of episodes were ok..going places, piqued my interest. some scenes were even cute or funny. but then it started to go south after in jung started talking to soo hwan and now, at 9, it's just plain rubbish!! what a freaking waste of time?! here is my list of crap about this drama: 1) why did IJ has to beg SH?! wasn't he the one who was married and fooled around with an innocent person? i mean, it takes two to tango but the girl didn't know he was married. she was a willing participant in an affair, but before he fessed up that he was married, she had no clue.
2) who the hell is the chick that looks like dead Joanne?! seriously, she even had the same "slit my wrist" scar!! back from the dead?! yeah right!!!
3) why is it there really...ZERO communication in this drama..only miscommunications. i mean, why didn't IJ tell YG the WHOLE story? he seem to have placed corners of the puzzle together, but the full picture is still missing. at one point, i was hoping that the uncle would tell YG everything about IJ, but that didn't happen.
4) the first couple of episodes made IJ out to be a weak, innocent girl, but after the attempted to jump infront of the truck (which by the way was lame, who tries to kill themselves by standing infront of a truck...like a mile away to where the driver can clearly see you and has plenty of time to break?!?!?!?), IJ lived independently and strongly after 5 years. i mean, that was the vibe i got, that this chick finally had a taste of the real, cruel world and is now toughen up to face it. boy was i wrong...i mean, she went from weak to completely PATHETIC!! i was rooting for her, now i feel like YG is wasting his time. she's a lost cause. all his love, dedication, and strength poured into a coward and hopelessly stupid woman.
5) then YG is portrayed throughout the drama (thus far) as this rebellious man, why did he allow his dad/stepmother indirectly kill his gf? really?!? i mean, i thought he didn't care what they thought or what they wanted...
6) the story is making me feel very lost and frustrated. i quit!!

In Jung is really pissing me off. she's such a weak character. im beginning to resent her now

In Jung has got to take the idiot of the year award. Second place would go to Yong Gi for continuing to chase after her. The only one starting to get a clue is Soo Hwan. I hope the next episode isn't as disappointing.
