...it's guilty of the whole "get one over on the bad guy, but don't take away his gun or make sure he's incapacitated before you try to make your getaway" thing.
I understand it increases the tension and all, but it also makes me think the people I'm meant to be rooting for just aren't all that clever. :/ It never fails- good guy smacks bad guy and just *runs*. If it were me, I'd keep hitting the fellow with bits of chair and anything else I could grab until I knew he wasn't getting back up again.
