When I saw this episode I thought this child may have ADHD or some form of neurological disorder as well. However, since the child was allowed to get away with truly outrageous behaviour a diagnosis is impossible. First the methods of calm and strong discipline must be implemented for at least 3 months, and her behavior reevaluated. Upon reevaluation if any of her symptoms persist then consulting a specialist would be in order. If she is capable of focus, self soothing, and completion of schoolwork and other reasonable responsibilities (making her bed, light chores, etc.)then her behavior can be chalked up to family dysfunction. Of course family therapy might be a good idea anyway in order to keep the parents on track with family functionality.
