I've been a huge fan of The Onion for quite some time, and I'll say that Al-Farouq is, by far, my favorite returning character. The clip they have on the new monument where the WTT was is hilarious. "It should be a place for everybody... old people.. young people... people in wheelchairs that cannot get away easily... The president should have an office on the highest of floors!" If you don't find this humorous then you should reevaluate your idea of "funny."
The opinion excels where broadcast and cable satirical television fails because it doesn't have to worry about offending the religious or conservative right. I like that they take on material like this. Very funny!
This is a great parody of news and should not be taken seriously. Or maybe it should. The Onion does a great job of walking the razors edge with their satirical views of modern day happenings.
I'm all about a good laugh, no matter which political party is involved but using 9/11 for a laugh is too much. Even though they have the right to create clips like this, it's still highly offensive. This will be my last visit to The Onion.
